My very last wedding of 2018 was the perfect end to an amazing season. We started with a typical Vancouver good-luck-on-your-wedding-day rain shower, which in November you just come to expect. Patrice and Anthony spent the morning getting ready with their families, boys on one side, girls on the other. These two have huge families, so lots of cute little kids running around. Patrice's niece even wore a custom-made princess gown, which I was OBSESSED with.
Patrice and Anthony had initially described their ideal wedding to me as a super chill day. It totally delivered. They kept their Brix and Mortar wedding ceremony intimate with mainly family, and had more of their friends join them for the reception. They chose not to have bridal parties, but their closest friends gave hilarious heartfelt speeches at the reception. For their first dance, they chose Valerie by Amy Winehouse.
"We will visualize the day as being simple and clean and I feel like we’re sticking to that. I don’t foresee a lot of theatrics on the day of – I really just want people to have good time with good food, good wine and good music."
