Taryn and Alex decided to forgo the traditional wedding ceremony, and do things a little differently to celebrate their long-time relationship.
A chill morning getting ready together (with their fur baby, Kona) at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, was followed by a drive to Green Lake in 40 degree heat for portraits with just the two of them. I had the pleasure of bringing along Steve from Tara Lilly Photography for this celebration, and thank Baby Jesus I did. He carried Taryn over a huge puddle of water, which ended up being hilarious - photo included!
They opted to have Alex's sister perform a formal commitment ceremony in front of 60 of their closest friends and family in front of a stunning mountain backdrop at North Arm Farm. Instead of a traditional bride walk down the aisle, they walked in together, hand-in-hand.
The reception was held outdoors with rustic long tables, lots of greenery, candles, and touches of copper accents. The reception decor and florals were designed by Robyn of Blue Violet Events.
Just as the sun started to go down, the guests headed into the barn for dessert and dancing while we went out for portraits. If you look closely, you can see the mosquitoes swarming around them, because they were EVERYWHERE.
After a quick dress change, Taryn and Alex headed back inside to dance the night away.
I drove home covered in a combination of Off mosquito repellant and powdered donut residue. Winner winner chicken dinner.
